Our School — Admissions
Roman Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York base their educational purpose and all their activities on the Christian teaching that all people are children of a loving God, who calls each to a supernatural destiny.
Saint Barnabas High School shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies.
Saint Barnabas High School admits single, female students who meet our admission criteria.
Admission to the ninth grade is based on:
- Successful performance on the TACHS Examination
- The Saint Barnabas High School Placement Test
- Successful completion of the elementary school requirements
- An expressed desire to attend Saint Barnabas High School
Students for upper classes are accepted on:
- Credits earned for academic subjects - transcript required
- The Saint Barnabas High School Placement Test
- The motivation of the student
- Favorable recommendations from the previous school
Admission to upper classes is processed through the Academic Dean
Scholarships
Some scholarships are offered to incoming freshmen. The criteria used to determine these scholarships are TACHS examination scores and elementary school performance. These scholarships may be renewed each year if the recipient maintains honor roll status and demonstrates positive compliance with all school rules.
