The choir sings various gospel songs, worship and praise songs,
and hymns. The choir sings at all liturgies, the Christmas assembly,
Black History Month, and other various events.

All up-to-date dances are performed to Reggae, Soca, Chutney, and
Hip-Hop music. African tribal dances are included also. This is a
fun club that requires a lot of strength, endurance, and high energy.

This club encourages an appreciation of nature and an awareness
of environmental responsibility. All activities, projects, and outings
will focus on this theme.

Drama gives students a chance to experience the performing arts.
The club schedules three performances per year in the dramatic,
variety, and musical formats. This club may also be taken for
academic credit in September ‘07.

The Forensics Club includes both formal and informal debates. The
first week a topic discussion is determined. Weeks two and three
are informal debates. A formal debate takes place on week four.
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to join.

This club embraces Irish culture through volunteer projects, eating,
dancing, movies, and more. Participation in the Throggs Neck
St. Patrick’s Day is a must for all members.

This club is a nationwide community service program where teens
volunteer at a nursing home and give women makeovers. Glamour-
Gals teen volunteers experience appreciation, respect, and
enjoyment through working with older women.

Enthusiasm about Latin culture is the only requirement for joining.
Club members learn Latin songs, celebrate holidays, write a Latin newspaper, learn to cook, view movies, and more!
Trips to Latin restaurants and theater are organized as well.

This Club needs girls who want to make the world a better place
by starting small acts of kindness. Club members give a little time,
a little money, and a little creativity. What they get in return is the
knowledge that they have put smiles on the faces of children who
do not have much to smile about.

To be published once a year, the journal will include original poetry,
short essays, and original artwork by students. All students are
free to submit their work, but volunteers are needed to help edit
the publication. Literary and art pieces are accepted throughout the
year. Editing takes place in the spring.

This club includes games, origami, and other activities involving
math.
Meets : Wednesdays at 2:30

Activities include writing, recording, and producing both original
and cover songs. The songs will then be used for the 2007 SBHS
Music Awards Show in March. Music theory and the working of the
music industry will be explored also. All students are welcome,
especially those with confidence singing.

The Chronicle is the SBHS student newspaper. It is published
twice a year and features news stories, articles, and opinion pieces
written by student reporters and editors. All students are welcome.
You must be able to meet deadlines and attend all meetings.

The aim of the club is to instill pride in its members by means of
highlighting the cultural heritage of Nubian (African) culture. This is
achieved by means of creative expression in art, drama, music, and
more.

Club members participate in planning school Masses and prayer
services. Members will serve as lectors, gift bearers, altar servers,
etc. The club is designed to help our Liturgies become student
friendly.

Peer tutors volunteer their time to help fellow students with classes
that may be challenging.

This club brings an enhanced awareness of life issues to the school
community. The club organizes a trip to Washington, D.C. each
year on January 22nd. The purpose of the trip is to bring Christian
Compassion to anyone who has had an abortion.

Yearbook
The Yearbook staff is assigned the task of completing the annual
Immaculata. Seniors, juniors, and sophomores may join. Students
are afforded the opportunity to show great creativity and originality
while designing their yearbook. Responsibilities include:
photography, graphic design, and literary composition. Students
must possess a dedication to staying after school hours and the
discipline to adhere to stringent deadlines.
